Jason Harper directed the South African leg of this film  in which the human relationship with fear is explored through our relationship with water from birth throughout our lives. We placed  a large scale coral reef model into the shark tank at the Two Oceans Aquarium for the scene of the marine biologists, and shot some scenes of the Malawian boys in the fishing boat in a public swimming pool. The Malawian fishing village was created on the  shores  of a Western Cape country club lake.
