Messina's process in making his video works involve a type of digital puppeteering, finding images that can be animated into humorous narratives that address social issues or problematic practices in the art world. In the work produced for this show the absurdity of privatised security and the culture of paranoia that surrounds it is satirised in the story of one street, where neighbours escalate into full blown military show down. And "it all begins with a bicycle..."
